faqs about fazr

I had a facial at a spa once...is this the same?

This is nothing like an ordinary spa facial. It is not rough nor invasive. I use hot water to cleanse and a special blend of organic rosehip oil and organic jojoba oil to help replenish & rejuvenate the delicate skin of your face.

Why do you use rosehip & jojoba oils?

Jojoba oil is an anti-inflammatory and emollient (softens & soothes the skin). It is beneficial for sunburns. Also, beneficial for all skin types and does not leave a greasy film on the skin. Rosehip oil is rich in essential fatty acids. It helps to regenerate tissue and has rejuvenating effects.

What is the purpose of having a Facial Acu-Zone Reflexology treatment?

FAZR is relaxing, removing stress. It also boosts your immune system. It helps to 'wake up' your facial skin so that it is more elastic, rosy and vibrant. The acu-points that are activated during a treatment can benefit your lymphatic system, tissues of the head & brain are improved.

Is FAZR covered under my extended health insurance?

If your extended health coverage covers Reflexology, then yes. Be sure to check with your insurance company beforehand and I can provide you with a receipt so you may claim your treatment.

Just how naked do I need to be?

I only need access to your head, scalp, neck & shoulders. If your shirt is loose and can be lowered down to expose your shoulders, that should be fine. Otherwise, you can remove your shirt (& bra) and be covered under the warm cozy blanket.

I have a cold, should I cancel my appointment?

Normally I would say no, come on ahead. This applies for all of my other treatments since they can all boost your immune system and help you to recover faster. However, for the FAZR treatment, my hands will be directly on your face. If you are currently ill, there is a chance of germs & bacteria being transferred around your face and possibly into your pores. So it is recommended that we re-schedule to another day when you are feeling better. If you are feeling up to it and have your heart set on some sort of pampering that day, I would suggest switching to a Foot Reflexology treatment that would definitely stimulate your immune system, get your blood, lymph & circulation moving. And the Foot Reflexology will also help to ease your symptoms.

I get migraines and bad headaches. Will a FAZR treatment help?

To put it simply...yes. The stimulation of acu-points around your face and skull will help with chronic migraines or headaches. BUT...please be advised, if you have an active migraine on the day of your appointment, having the treatment may exacerbate it and make it worse. As above, I would suggest switching to a Foot Reflexology or Reiki treatment for that day. Or simply re-scheduling to a day that you do not have a pre-existing headache or migraine.

Do I need to remove my make-up before arriving?

Your make-up will have to be removed before a FAZR treatment can take place. Otherwise the product will be worked into your pores. If you still have make-up on when you arrive, I do have cotton pads and apricot kernel oil for easy removal.
